“Thailand's new generation electroacoustic artist” (Time Out Bangkok, Goethe Institut Thailand) Sippapas Thienwiwat (b. 2006) is a Bangkok-based composer, performer, digital artist, scholar, and curator whose work lies at the intersection of electroacoustic composition, live electronics improvisation, and digital arts practices. Working across fixed medium and real-time performance, his work interrogates post-acousmaticism by treating technological systems as compositional material, shaping them through recontextualization, reconstruction, and spatialization while maintaining a keen historical awareness of electronic music practices and listening cultures. As SKYKYS, this approach extends into audiovisual livecoding performances that offer immersive experiences by combining algorithmic processes, multichannel sound environments, and audio-reactive visualizations.

Past performances in Bangkok include a diverse list of spaces such as Bangkok Kunsthalle, One Bangkok, EmSphere, Goethe-Institut Thailand, Century Theater Sukhumvit, Sala Saneha, Tentacles Workshop, JAM, Studio Lam, and SYNAP home/lab. His music can be seldomly heard accompanying Thai moving image works, including works by Yves Pokakunkanon, Cedric J. Arnold, Kanyanat Sittisumpun, and Pich Rongmuang. He has received awards and grants from the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music and the Goethe Institut Thailand. In April and May 2027, he will be an Undergraduate Visiting Scholar at the School of Languages, Cultures, Art History and Music, University of Birmingham.
Sippapas serves as the President and Diffusion Artist-in-Residence of the Thai ElectroAcoustic Music Society (TEAMS), where he is mentored by Jiradej Setabundhu and Scott Wilson. As the Artistic Director, Curator, and Lead Technician of the Society, he has organized several TEAMS workshops and concerts in Thailand and abroad, premiered and diffused electroacoustic repertoire in Thailand, and designed several configurations of the TEAMSpace loudspeaker orchestra, including the TEAMSpace 8.1 and 12.1 at Bangkok Kunsthalle, TEAMSpace 10.1.2 at TICF2026 (College of Music, Mahidol University), and TEAMSpace 26.2 at TagTEAMS 2026 (Bangkok Kunsthalle). With TEAMS, he is currently developing TEAMSonar (Thai Electroacoustic Music Society OmNi-directional Audio Reproduction system), an 18-faced spherical-like beamforming loudspeaker, with Tanatorn Pravalpadd. These leadership roles run parallel to his BASc in Creative Arts and Technology at IMSE, KMITL, where he conducts practice-based research in electroacoustic music and computational arts under Matthias Jung and Theerawat Klangjareonchai. His academic work is further supplemented by private sonic arts and computational arts studies under Thanapat Ogaslert, loudspeaker orchestra and electroacoustic music studies with Scott Wilson, and previous music composition studies with Tyler Capp. Beyond his work with TEAMS, he is a member of the Cornea Cochlear Club collective and formerly served as the Technical Director, Electronics Performer, and Technician of the Triphens Ensemble. Besides music, Sippapas is a 1 dan amateur Go player.

SKYKYS is a digital art project of Thai composer and scholar Sippapas Thienwiwat, whose work in the audio-sometimes-visual medium is presented in livecoding and live electronics performance. His sonic practice borrows from electroacoustic music and dance music, extended by bare-bones signal visualization techniques. Past performance highlights as SKYKYS include the BEAST system in the Elgar Concert Hall at the University of Birmingham, SODA Club at the Berlin Kulturbrauerei, Current Plans Hong Kong, EmSphere, One Bangkok, Bangkok Kunsthalle, and Synap[home/lab]. As a member of the Bangkok-based Cornea Cochlear Club, Sippapas has been using SKYKYS’s works as a reference point for his personal research in multichannel audiovisual livecoding.

SKYKYS (สะ-กาย-เค-วาย-เอส) คือนามปากกาสำหรับชิ้นงานดิจิทัลอาร์ตของ สิปปภาส เธียรวิวรรธน์ ศิลปินและนักประพันธ์ดนตรีชาวไทยที่แสดงผลงานแขนงเสียง (Sound Art) และ วิดีโอ (Video Art) ผ่านกระบวนการไลฟ์โคดดิ้ง (Live Coding) และการแสดงไลฟ์อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (Live Electronics)
ชิ้นงานของ SKYKYS เดินทางผ่านภูมิทัศน์แห่งเสียงและภาพในยุค Post-Digital โดยผสมผสานพาเล็ตเสียงที่ไม่ถูกฟังแบบเพ้อฝัน ซึ่งรับอิทธิพลมาจากการศึกษาทางด้านการประพันธ์ดนตรีอิเล็กโทรอคูสติก รวมงานภาพเคลื่อนไหวที่ใช้การแสดงข้อมูลทางเสียง (Audio Visualization) ผ่านศิลปะกราฟิกออสซิลโลสโคป (Oscilloscope) และพาเล็ตสีแบบมินิมอล (Minimal Color Palette)
SKYKYS ได้แสดงในหลากหลายสถานที่ทั้งในไทยและต่างประเทศ ตั้งแต่โรงละครเสียง BEAST ที่ University of Birmingham ในสหราชอาณาจักรและแกลเลอรี่ Current Plans ในฮ่องกง ไปจนถึงห้างสรรพสินค้า EmSphere กับ SYNAP home/lab ซึ่งเป็นศูนย์รวมดนตรี Livecoding ในไทย และระบบเสียงรอบทิศทางของ Bangkok Kunsthalle ที่ SKYKYS ได้พัฒนาระบบการกระจายเสียงแบบดิฟฟิวชั่น (Sound Diffusion) TEAMSmulch ไว้สำหรับระบบลำโพง 8.2

Sippapas Thienwiwat (geb. 2006) ist ein in Bangkok ansässiger thailändischer Digital-künstler und Komponist, der mit einem breiten Spektrum an klangbasierten Praktiken arbeitet – von multikanal audiovisuellem Livecoding bis hin zu computerassistierter elektroakustischer Komposition und Improvisation. Unter seinem Künstlernamen SKYKYS erforscht er audiovisuelle Landschaften der Tanzmusik durch Livecoding und de-konstruiert dabei gängige Normen von Arrangement und Danceability.
Seine Arbeiten als Komponist/Performer untersuchen elektronische Klangproduktion sowie die Transformation ihrer Eigenschaften durch elektroakustische Komposition. Als Künstler und Forscher wurden seine elektroakustischen Werke bereits in den USA, England, Irland, Deutschland, Brasilien, Ecuador, Hongkong, Singapur und Thailand präsentiert. Zu seinen jüngsten Kooperationen zählen u. a. BEAST (UK), CEMI (Texas, USA), EMuSE (NY, USA), Sonic Officer (HK), Cornea Cochlear Club (TH), Triphens Ensemble (TH) und das TACETi Ensemble (TH). Derzeit ist Sippapas Präsident und Diffusion Artist der Thai ElectroAcoustic Music Society (TEAMS).
